TORG: A New Cosm? A Utopia of Manners!

I was asked what cosm I would create - and where - if the Gaunt Man gave me a darkness device and asked me to invade Earth. Here is my reply:

Germany and especially Austria (that's where I am from) and the Balkans need a cosm!

Genrewise I miss Fantasy of Manners and Transhuman Sciencefiction, leading to some Post/Transhumanism of Manners?

There will be New Romanticism like it's 1982, except that it feels more like 2082. Some powdered wigs, but at least as much long glam rock hair. It's the weird psychedlic and timeless future of 70ies Scifi like Zardoz beyond the wastelands. H.G. Wells' Eloi running the cosm, being nasty to each other behind the gobelins. Melniboné fits in there as well.

It has the tree shooting party scene vibe from the 1970ies Rollerball, the roaming the countryside roads of Clockwork Orange's Durango 95 rides and the killer gemstone and weird costumes from Logan's Run. An utopia with dark undercurrents.

And the landscape between the palaces is straight from the cover of a 1970ies ProgRock album. I am sure there will be enough floating pyramids and giant stone heads.

It's not about high tech, but the invisible tech, looking like magic, except that it's never micro, but macro, and quiet and clean.

(I guess smaller sections might filled up with 1984's proles and morlocks as well. But they play a smaller role with the mostly reactionary and aristocratic world laws keeping the blood lines in check.)

The Mythic Gamemaster Emulator

I own the Mythic RPG already for a few years. It is a great way to play solo without a GM. The Gamemaster Emulator takes over the decisions. Most of the time you get a Yes/No answer, but every few rolls, a random event happens, that gives much more detail and new inspiration.

Originally this was a table in a pdf, but recently I found a flash version of the GM Emulator online.

An amazing thread at rpg.net details how to use the GM emulator for world building.

It's especially cool for settings, where you regularly need new worlds - like the Doctor Who RPG.

I just tested it and we created a world, where less than 10 gods exist, but those are banned into weapons and heavily interfere with the life of all mortals. Those gods are now weapons of mass destruction and seemingly can be used by a few chosen (but generally by everyone). These godweapons seem to be missilelike. I imagine them as talking weapon silos. Seems to be a great start!

Primordaea - The Beginning of Time

It has been quite quiet here lately. The reason for this is that I concentrated to work on my German language Savage Worlds setting "Primordäa - Anbeginn der Zeit". I hope to translate it to English as soon as the first German version is ready to be published.

Actually one version is already available as can see if you follow the link above. It is a 15 page document plus a map - obviously in German. I took part in a German language Savage Setting contest, but did not win anything. Still I got a lot of good reactions and want to go on workingon the setting.

What it is about?

The player characters are the first humanoid beings on a world that slowly cools down from pure magma and starts to carry life. They and their NPC siblings were created by accident by the elemental hearts, forces of nature. By the power of the WORD the PCs and the other children of the elementals can create life. Soon they will lead their tribes and fight with their sisters and brother for the virgin continent Primordaea. But there is also this mysterious force called life that spreads around the world in the form of algae and worms. Who will decide now on the fate of Primordaea for the eons to come?
